I’m going to do something a bit different here. I won’t just link anime related posts. I’m opening this up to gaming, architecture, art, anything I’ve found worthwhile on the internet! (I’ve crossed our architecture and art as I’m creating a new series on this subject matter since they’re not anime-related)

WordPress:

  • My Top 8 Anime OSTs: I love OST’s and I love finding fellow audiophiles! So, go check out Ryuji’s list! A few of my favorites made the list, and I’m sure most of you will agree *cough*Haikyuu!*cough*
  • What Does it Take to Get into Cosplay Photography: As someone that’s also a n00b to Cosplay Photography, I really enjoyed Kausus’ post on the subject matter!

Non-Wordpress:

  • Streamer’s Hateful Rant Revives Debate About Women On Twitch: This popular streamer went on a misogynistic rant about how women were ruining Twitch. Some of the words and phrases are really uncalled for. Not that I’m ignoring the fact that he’s really butt hurt about it, but it does bring up a good point for females on Twitch, and what Twitch stands for. Yes, women are allowed to dress as they please, and so yes, they should be allowed to be as revealing as they want, but that’s a selling point right? Sex sells. But, does that take away from the streamer’s content? Does their lack of clothes make them lose credibility? While I don’t stand for name-calling by the streamer, I can see why some other points have gained traction.

OWLS POSTS:

We are a group of otaku bloggers who promotes acceptance of all individuals regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion and disability. We emphasize the importance of respect, kindness, and tolerance to every human being.

Our November tour looks at the theme of “Diplomacy”The prompt is as follows:

Whenever we have a disagreement with someone, we use our words to express our thoughts and opinions. However, there are those who would rather use fists instead of words, those who forget that being “right” isn’t the most important thing, and those who lose sight of compromising and acknowledging differences in opinion and belief. Diplomacy is an important skill and tactic that not many of us have or are able to utilize properly especially in “social media wars” for sensitive issues and anime discourse—we just express our opinions without really listening.

For this month’s prompt, we will be exploring some of the best negotiations scenes in pop culture media and discuss how effective these diplomatic moments are and what we can learn from them. We will also discuss why communication and listening are important traits to have and whether or not there are other means to enforce peace.Whenever we have a disagreement with someone, we use our words to express our thoughts and opinions.
